BEDMAS Blog post

Image result for bedmasThis morning we have to write a blog post about what BEDMAS is and what it stands for? So through out this term we have been learning maths, in maths we have been learning about new statements about maths. Our teacher Mr Wiseman told us that we were going to be learning about difference type of maths we were going to be learning, he told the whole maths class that we are learning about a type of maths called BEDMAS. BEDMAS was a type of maths everyone was confused about, everybody didn't know what it meant, so our teacher started to explain it to us.

B stands for Brackets, E stands for Exponents, D stands for Division, M stands for Multiplication, A stands for Addition and S stands for Subtraction, so those are the meanings for what BEDMAS stands for. The definition for BEDMAS is the order of operations you use for solving a maths equation. For an example 3 x 6 + ( 9 - 2 ) x 7 = ?, which we all had to use the BEDMAS order to get the answer one by one.

Exercise 6

Take one tenth () from each of these numbers

1) 39.6 - 0.1 = 39.5 (2) 32.1 - 0.1 = 31.0 (3) 123.7 - 0.1 = 123.6

4) 0.89 - 0.1 = 0.88 (5) 45.6 - 0.1 = 45.5 (6) 56.1 - 0.1 = 55.0

7) 286. 2 - 0.1 = 286.1 (8) 39.1 - 0.1 = 38.0 (9) 8.2 - 0.1 = 8.1

10) 478.30 - 0.1 = 478.29

WALT - We are learning identify and use tenths.
