Task Description: This post is apart of the SLJ that stands for ( Summer Learning Journey ). For this weeks task we had to do an activity that was related to our summer learning journey topic A place to stand. My personal job was to write 5 questions to ask Sir Edmund Hillary back in his day when he was still alive.

  1. Kia ora Jasmyne,

It is wonderful to see that you have joined us for another summer of blogging with the Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) programme this year. Welcome back!

I can see that you have been really busy completing activities and that you are already on Day #4. That's awesome. I can see from this activity that you have come up with five thoughtful questions for Sir Edmund Hillary. Like you, I would also like to know how he made the decision to climb Everest in the first place. I wonder if it was a dream of his from the time that he was a little boy and like that you have also thought to ask him about the idea of people trying to stop him from achieving his dreams. This is a really insightful question. I suspect that he did have people who told him that he wouldn't be able to do it or tried to stop him, telling him that it was impossible. I really admire Sir Hillary because he didn't listen to those people and, instead, followed his heart and achieved this dreams. I think that he was pretty brave. What about you? Do you have any special dreams that you hope to achieve one day?

I hope that you will continue to work hard on the SLJ and keep on posting thoughtful activities like this one!

    Keep up the great work,

    Rachel :)

  2. Hi Jasmyne...great to see you blogging on the SLJ. There's still some time to complete the activities before school begins - how many more can you get done? Keep up the great work.
